The gasket was introduced by Vauxhall as a warranty repair to resolve the complaint of excessive rattling noises from the area of the oil pump chain during engine start.
This gasket fits on the back of the Chain tensioner (OE 55488244 & 55505562) and is designed to resolve this issue.
